Though we're hoping to finally add new content this year, we've been away from this page for a long time. As many friends of this page know, the reason for our long absence is that we moved, a thousand miles further south, from the Pampas to Patagonia.
Obviously, a move like that was not just about going from one place to another, but to adjusting to a whole new set of people, places, and things. So our music page had to be put on the back-burner.
The idea was for three more projects. It took a while to put everything together from our end, but by the beginning of 2020 we were ready to contact Mick, et al. and, well, then came 2020 itself.
As events unfolded early that year, we decided that instead of travelling north to record, we'd move south to live, since we couldn't do both. That meant no more recording for the foreseeable future. Obviously , it was an difficult decision to make.
Especially since I was very happy with the songs I had prepared, and couldn't wait to get back to NYC to record with a group of such extraordiary musicians. There was also the possibility of working again with Mick and Johnnie Valentino, as well as with two old friends from William Pateron, the virtuoso Pat Bergeson and my old roommate, the great Charles Bissell, as I had contacted both with the hope of recording something long distance together, and both had graciously agreed to offer their time and extraordinary talent.
But everything simply got jumbled in the big move. Again, it was a difficult decision, but had to be made, and was. So here we are!
We've been here now for almost three years, and though we won't be recording anything new, we're hoping to reconnect with this page, which we simply refer to as PRM (Paul Rothwell Music) and add new videos, and dig up some old stuff from the vault, ie; finished songs, but informal demos, that we never got around to recording.
Apparently, Taylor Swift has 4,882,244 visitors to her page. As many friends of this page know, our humble goal is to put Miss Swift in our rearview by reaching half a billion. Toward that end, we're happy to announce that we are just 4,880,144 shy of tying Miss Swift, and so just a mere 4,997,900 of our ultiamte goal.
Seriously though, friends of this page are awesome and from all over, and we couldn't be more proud of and grateful to each and every one of them. Especially to those who have taken the time to write and say "Hi", leave a comment, or ask a question. Toward that end we're looking forward to revisiting and adding to PRM's mailbox.
